Teeth Brushing Tip

White Fresh Smiles are the Best Smiles!

There are a handful of things you can do to help keep your dogs smiles shiny and fresh. There are chew toys that you can buy that are specifically for dogs teething/trying to sharpen up their teeth. There are also dog treats that are made to help freshen up your dogs breath. Check your local pet store for their full stock.

Get comfortable around your dogs mouth and face before trying to get invasive. If you don't feel comfortable being That up close and personal with your dog, there are professionals and others that have practice brushing dogs teeth. Chewy toys are only going to go so far, getting a good scrubbing, will keep their smiles bright and their gums clean too. You want to make sure you are getting their teeth and gums all the way at the back of their mouth, for a full clean and fresh mouth.

Tip:

There are different tooth brushes and tooth paste. Chemicals in human toothpaste aren't good for dogs, you need to get toothpaste that is specifically for dogs. Fun fact, dog tooth paste has yummy flavors, my dogs current tooth paste taste like peanut butter to him and he absolutely loves it!

Tooth brushes aren't as tricky. There are tooth brushes that have more of a plastic bristle instead of our normal bristles, that are suppose to be good for dogs; although regular toothbrushes should work ok if you don't have special ones. They also have finger tip brushes that just go on your finger, apply the tooth paste along the bristles and start brushing. Make sure you rinse off brushes to reduce grime build up, just like you would rinse off your own tooth brush after using it.
